Financial Policy

At Albany Periodontics, we strive to provide the highest quality dental care at a reasonable fee. In order to meet this expectation, we elected to be a fee-for-service practice. This allows us to work beyond the fixed rate dictated by a third-party insurance provider, thereby enabling us to provide upmost comprehensive care by utilizing the highest quality labs and dental materials.

We are a fee-for-service office, and we do not participate with any dental insurance plan. What does this mean for you?

  • For any treatment, including the initial examination, a full payment is required at the time of service.
  • We will submit any claims after the service provided to your insurance company for any reimbursement (as appropriated by your dental insurance plan). This reimbursement is directly sent to you from the insurance company. *Please note, some insurance companies do not have this function and may send the reimbursement check to us. We will send you a refund check for the same amount should this be the case.
  • We cannot guarantee coverage by your insurance company for any service provided. Any reimbursement is determined by your insurance company. We highly encourage you to contact your insurance company to check for any coverage for out-of-network providers.
  • We accept cash, check, and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCards, Discover, and American Express).
  • For your convenience, we also accept CareCredit, a dental credit card with interest free plan for potentially up to two years. Arrangements must be made with us before the treatment begins. For more information, please contact our office and/or visit

cancellation Policy

We understand that your time is valuable. Furthermore, access to dental care in a timely manner is very important in achieving optimal oral health. Scheduling appointments with us is an agreement between you, the patient, and Albany Periodontics, the provider. Proper notifications, including rescheduling or cancellations of appointments in advance, allows us to offer empty time slots to other patients that are in need of care as there is a high demand to be seen in our office. To maintain our highest quality of service, we ask that you give us a minimum of TWO business days notice for the any cancellation. Failure to provide a proper notice OR arriving 15 minutes late to an appointment will be registered as a failed appointment.

Cancellation penalties:

  • 1st time cancellation: $0.00 fee and documented warning.
  • 2nd time cancellation: $0.00 fee and no future appointment can be made without a non-refundable down payment. Non-refundable down payment for a (1) dental cleaning is $100, and (2) dental surgery is $500.  The non-refundable down payment has to be made at the time of scheduling of the 3rd appointment attempt. This payment can be made by a (1) credit card over phone, or (2) check in-person. This non-refundable fee will be applied to the day’s service and the patient will be responsible to pay the difference of the final treatment fee. If the 3rd appointment attempt is cancelled, this non-refundable down payment will not be returned to the patient. Another non-refundable down payment is required to reschedule another appointment.  Patient is also subject to dismissal from the practice for continued cancellation.

Leaving a message on our voicemail to cancel your appointment does NOT confirm your cancellation. Please talk to one of our administrative team members to confirm your cancellation. We are closed on Wednesdays and it is not considered a working business day. Therefore you need to call on Monday to cancel an appointment for Thursday. Repetitive pattern of greater than 48-hour cancellation is also subject to dismissal from the practice.  Patients who are dismissed from the clinic will need to be seen for a comprehensive examination to be established as a patient again.

Late Arrival Policy

If you are 15 or more minutes late to your appointment, we will consider it as a failed appointment and you will be asked to reschedule for another time.
